Palau de Congressos de Catalunya

Winner of the National Architecture Prize in 2001, the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya is considered to be one of Barcelona's most important financial and commercial centres.

A place with prestige

Conceived as an major international-standard facility, the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya was designed as a complete and multifunctional space by the architects Carles Ferrater, Josep Maria Cartañà and Alberto Peñín.

Situated at one of the access point to the city of Barcelona at the end of Avinguda Diagonal, and surrounded by stunning gardens, the Palau de Congressos has a total of 35 halls. These include an auditorium with a capacity of 2,500 that is totally prepared to host conferences, concerts or screenings in large format. It can also host large banquets for more than 3,000 diners.

International recognition

The building, which won the National Architecture Prize in 2001, is a perfect example of contemporary architecture where pragmatism and functionality have been established as the main criteria. Forming part of the infrastructure of the Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I-Business and City Resort, the Palau de Congressos has the added prestige of being a recipient of the Prize for the Best Conventions Centre in Europe, awarded during the celebration of the Meetings Incentive Travel Industry Awards in 2006.
